TWO bakers were founded in 2014 by two friends with a shared love of good food and desserts.  The chic artisan bakery and cafe is located in the heritage-filled Jalan Besar area. Two bakers are active in local festivals, bringing their sweet and savoury fare to events such as Singapore’s first Coffee Festival, DBS Marina Regatta and hip indie music festivals such as Neon Lights, St Jerome ’s Laneway and many more. 

The young team is vibrant, fun and creative, aspiring to bring much more delicious food to you. Signature dishes include sambal prawn risotto, ondeh éclair and pandan hotcakes made with natural pandan juice. There is always a surprise in the menu to keep customers coming back for more.

Job Description

This position executes general cooking duties at Two Bakers, interns will learn pastry and food bulk production for retail and catering, a la carte service, and floor service. With evidence of interest, the intern will have the opportunity to see and learn skills in pastry, food and beverage preparations. Rotation within departments will be based on the manager’s discretion as see fit, student’s abilities and desire to excel.

Job Functions:

• Preparing baked pastry product according to kitchen’s standard. This includes but not limited to:

  1. Assist in the preparation of pastry production by strictly following recipe provided.
  2. Carry out activities such as measuring, cutting, washing, mixing, cooking and baking of ingredients.
  3. Participate in taking stock of pastry product inventories and prepares pastry mise-en-place for next day.
  4. Maintain kitchen environment according to company standards for cleanliness, hygiene, organization, and functioning equipment/small wares.
  5. Controlling waste; following company procedures, rules and regulations and helping other areas when necessary.

• Preparing food according to kitchen’s standards. This includes but not limited to:

  1. Assists in the preparation of several parts of a major meal by mixing and stirring, ladling, adjusting heat, etc.
  2. Preparing food portions, serving, and cleaning work areas and utensils.
  3. Participate in taking stock of inventories and prepares pastry mise-en-place
    for next day.
  4. Prepares one part of a major meal such as maincourse, salad and etc, in
    proper quantities for serving; measures, mixes, seasons, garnishes and
    otherwise prepares dish.
  5. Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and reports any repair or
    maintenance needed.

• Assist service crew in activities inclding but not limited to:
1. Greeting and welcoming guests in a friendly and polite manner.
2. Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of

customer service.
3. Clear used dishes, cups, utensils and prepare fresh set ups for tables. 4. Follow cash handling procedures.
5. Manage customers queries in a timely manner.
6. Ensure company’s cleanlines and hygiene standards are adhered to


• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
