The overall purpose of the internship at Tamil Murasu is to immerse the intern in the dynamic field of journalism, offering a comprehensive learning experience while contributing to the publication’s mission of delivering impactful news.
Interns are expected to develop their journalistic skills and understanding of media practices, enhancing their ability to produce engaging and relevant content. Through this role, interns will gain valuable insights into both traditional and digital journalism, all while actively participating in the creation of content that resonates with and informs the Tamil-speaking community.
Key Responsibilities
The scope of responsibilities includes the following:As an Intern Journalist for Tamil Murasu, you will be working with the Tamil Murasu editorialteam. You will gather news, research, work on and write stories. Apart from print, you will alsocontribute towards online platforms, producing video reports and picture galleries for the digital platforms.
Requirements:
Individuals who are effectively bilingual and proficient in Tamil
Good news sense with a good understanding of online and current trends in mobilecontent
Knowledge in basic video taking/editing and web content management is a plus
Comfortable in interacting with a range of people and organizationA positive attitude to learning
