ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) Humanitarian Week The SRC Humanitarian Week serves as a key platform for addressing the most pressing and timely humanitarian issues faced locally and globally. Throughout the week, various humanitarian engagement events will be held to reach out to a diverse range of stakeholders such as the youth, partners from the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, practitioners within the humanitarian sector, the diplomatic community and more.
This year’s humanitarian week themed ‘Humanity Beyond Today’ will include a Youth Dialogue focusing on International Humanitarian Law, Better Together Dialogue with Southeast Asia (SEA) National Societies, Humanitarian Dinner with partners, a podcast series and the 11th Singapore Humanitarian Conference. Across the different events, participants will engage in discussions to reflect and encourage collective action in addressing these challenges. These events serve as spaces for knowledge exchange and collaboration aimed at driving positive change.
JOB PURPOSE
The intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of theSRC Humanitarian Week. This role provides hands-on exposure to event management, stakeholder coordination, humanitarian communications, and programme operations. The intern will contribute to ensuring that Humanitarian Week activities are delivered smoothly, professionally, and in alignment with Singapore Red Cross’ mission and values.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Coordination
- Support logistical planning and operational coordination for Humanitarian Week activities, events, and campaigns
- Assist in preparing event timelines and operational checklists
- Coordinate administrative arrangements including venue setup, materials preparation, and vendor liaison
- Support on-site event execution and troubleshooting
Programme & Stakeholder Support
- Assist in coordinating with internal departments, partners, volunteers, and external stakeholders
- Support volunteer engagement and event staffing arrangements
- Track action items and follow up on planning milestones
Communications & Outreach
- Support the preparation of event materials such as presentations, briefing notes, and participant kits
- Assist in drafting social media content, event announcements, and internal communications
- Help document activities through photography, note-taking, and post-event summaries
Administrative Support
- Maintain organised documentation of event planning materials
- Support post-event reporting and evaluation
Any Other Duties
- Intern may be requested to support other humanitarian engagement events or activities happening during the period of internship.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications & Experiences
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in event management, communications, social sciences, international relations, or a related field
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work under tight timelines
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Interest in humanitarian work and volunteer engagement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
