Job Scope and Key Responsibilities:
Seastarr is involved in Trading from all parts of the world that handle thousands of tons of chemicals annually. The position in the sales administration department integrates documentation associated with the implementation of all import and export proceedings.
Job Duties:
Logistics :
- Review documentary credit terms and conditions in conjunction with sales contracts. Prepare documentation in accordance with letter of credit and/or open account requirements.
- Constant interaction with related parties before, during and after loading of containers to ensure proper documentation, including commercial and shipping documents etc.
- Constant interaction with shipping agents and surveyors to obtain required documentation, including bills of lading, draft survey reports, quality reports, etc.
- Accountable for Seastarr distribution business including documentation, database reconciliation, etc.
- Responsible for containerised shipment logistics including booking confirmations with shipping companies, forwarders, etc. as well as communicating with clients for loading schedules, cargo cut-off dates, latest shipment dates, etc.
- Responsible for updating spreadsheets and/or databases
- Prepare and provide relevant documentation to the accounting department, including freight and commission invoices for payment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or relevant certification required as well as formal logistics or equivalent educational background preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel along with strong written and verbal communication skills is also necessary. Ability to apply principles to solve practical everyday problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists is necessary. Must be organised, accurate and detail oriented and be able to work well under tight deadlines.
