Every day, neighborhood small & home businesses post new flash deals on PopLister. Succulent daily dishes, ethnic specialties, hard-to-find brands, imported handicraft, learning courses, local services.
Offers are posted for a limited time and with limited quantities. Most of them are available for same-day pick-up or delivery, sometimes within the hour!
PopLister is available for free and works on Apple and Android phones.
As a community manager, you are responsible for growing transaction volume within a very specific geographic area. To achieve this goal, you typically need to:
1) Understand the local environment and community. Who lives here? Who works here? What do they like? Where do they shop and eat? What do they do in the evening and on week-ends?
2) Identify and acquire sellers from various sources (online, door-to-door …)
3) Manage and grow the assortment of daily offers (help sellers use the app, organize promotions, understand and develop what sells well…)
4) Develop a marketing plan to acquire new users in your designated geographic area (prioritize advertising channels, organize events, distribute pamphlets, visit fairs …)
This position is an internship position. It can be full time or half-time.
What is required
- Singaporean, Permanent Resident, or Work Holiday Pass
- Available for at least 2 months (internship)
- You are very motivated to work in a start-up and understand how this is different from working in a more traditional company
- You are outgoing, comfortable calling and meeting people that you don’t know
- Extremely savvy with mobile apps. Own a smartphone. Shop online
Preferred
- Academic or professional skills in one of these areas: marketing, accounting, computer science, engineering
- You are very familiar with at least one neighborhood in a central area of Singapore
- You regularly participate in the peer-to-peer economy (Gumtree, Craigs List, Carousell, Neighborhood fairs, UberX, Airbnb…)
- Experience in a community management / sales / commercial / business development role
- Experience working in a mobile internet start-up
- Speak one other language besides English
