Job description of Retail Assistant
Job title: Retail Assistant Department: Retail and Sales
Job purpose: To assist customers with product enquiries and purchasing of merchandise
Report to: Franchise Manager
Industry Focus: Commercial based - Education and Lifestyle
Working Hours: 5 days work week but require to work one weekend (1100am - 700pm)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets and interacts with customers
- Consults with customers to understand their needs
- Demonstrates and explain merchandise and products, selecting and suggesting options for the customers
- Answer customers' questions and assist with purchases
- Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room or other inventory locations; places special orders
- Collects payment using the POS system
- Processes returns and exchanges upon Mgmt approval
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent active listening skills
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Extension knowledge of merchandise sold
- Ability to anticipate customers needs
- Ability to recommend merchandise and solutions to customers
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn the stores POS system
Experience
- Previous retail experience preferred
