As a Finance & Operations Intern at Mama Shelter Singapore, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to the numbers and processes that keep a hotel running smoothly:
1. Finance & Accounting Support Assist in daily finance operations including invoice processing, payment tracking, and expense claims. Support monthly financial closing, bank reconciliations, and petty cash handling. Help prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for management. Maintain accurate documentation of receipts, vendor contracts, and billing records.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control Assist in tracking departmental budgets and highlighting variances. Support procurement and cost-checking processes with suppliers and contractors. Monitor inventory and assist in stock-taking for F&B and operations. Provide input for cost-efficiency initiatives across departments.
3. Compliance & Audit Prep Help ensure compliance with finance and regulatory requirements (IRAS, GST, MOM). Assist in preparing documentation for audits and internal reviews. Support HR/Payroll in reviewing claims, CPF, and statutory submissions.
4. Operations Support Work with Operations team to review SOPs for hotel opening readiness. Assist in vendor and service provider coordination (e.g. utilities, contractors, IT systems). Track maintenance and operational expenses, ensuring timely approvals and payment. Participate in cross-departmental projects linking finance with daily hotel operations.
5. Data & Reporting Compile and present dashboards on financial and operational KPIs. Analyze trends in revenue, cost, and manpower utilization. Provide recommendations based on insights for efficiency and savings.
