Who we are:
ItsRainingRaincoats is a registered charity that aims to improve the welfare of migrant workers in Singapore and assimilate their integration into Singaporean society. Since our inception in 2014, we have been fully run by volunteers. This year, however, we are hiring permanent staff. What inspIRRe is:
Located at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road, inspIRRe is Singapore’s first-of-its-kind place dedicated to migrant workers. On the first floor is a shop where workers can take items that members of the public have donated. On the second floor is a lounge and meeting area where workers, volunteers, corporates, and other stakeholders can meet and relax in. There is no entrance fee to inspIRRe and workers simply have to book a slot before they can enter. Each worker can only visit once every three months so as to ensure Singapore’s population of one million workers can each get a chance to visit.
Responsibilities/requirements:
- Able to manage the space, inventory, and be prepared to be hands-on with cleaning and sorting.
- Background/experience with inventory and stocktaking
- Prepared to manage volunteers
- Able to liaise with corporates, stakeholders, govt bodies, donors & workers
- Background in admin and/or facilities would be helpful
- Must be able to work at 470 Upper Paya Lebar Road (inspIRRe office) from Monday to Friday.
- Be responsive on weekends via whatsapp if needed over the weekends.
What you will be doing:
- Managing volunteers: eg. creating regular sign-up sheets, communicating with volunteers as to what needs to be done
- Managing the migrant workers who visit inspIRRe: eg. creating regular booking forms, figuring out a booking system, etc.
- Being the representative for inspIRRe and replying to emails from corporates, stakeholders, government bodies, and members of the public
- Tagging all the inventory at the store and updating it promptly
- Overall in-charge of inspIRRe including liaising with landlord, cleaners, contractors, ensuring pest control / water / gardening is all taken care of etc.
Overall, we are looking for a passionate, driven, and reliable leader to carry the inspIRRe mission forward with enthusiasm. Flexibility to take calls and respond via whatsapp to questions from volunteers is needed.
