Job Description

As a Software & AI Tester, you will be responsible for testing our web application, backend services, and AI video analytics pipeline. You will validate software releases, ensure AI model accuracy meets expectations, and work closely with engineering, MLOps, and product teams to identify issues early and improve system stability.

This role requires someone who is consistent, highly observant, and able to test both traditional software features and AI outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing (Web + Backend)

• Test new product features across web application, APIs, and backend services.
• Perform regression testing before every release.
• Validate system workflows including user management, dashboards, incident reporting, and alert delivery.
• Test API endpoints using tools such as Postman / Swagger.
• Verify bug fixes and confirm expected behavior after patches.

AI & Video Analytics Testing

• Validate AI detections on live CCTV streams and recorded footage.
• Check accuracy of detections such as PPE compliance, unsafe acts, restricted zone violations, etc.
• Review AI debug frames and metadata to confirm correct detection logic.
• Identify false positives / false negatives and document them clearly for the AI team.
• Verify tracking stability, detection consistency, and alert trigger logic.

Release & Deployment Validation

• Support release testing for cloud deployments and on-premise deployments.
• Validate system performance after updates (CPU/GPU load, camera throughput, latency).
• Ensure configuration changes do not break AI pipelines.
• Assist in maintaining test reports and release QA sign-offs.

Documentation & Reporting

• Create clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, screenshots, logs, and expected vs actual results.
• Maintain QA checklists and test case documents.
• Track bugs and feature issues using Jira/Trello/ClickUp (or internal tools).
• Coordinate with developers to confirm root causes and resolution.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Strong attention to detail and structured testing mindset.
• Experience testing web applications and backend APIs.
• Ability to understand technical documentation and release notes.
• Comfortable analyzing logs, system outputs, and debug images.
• Able to work independently and consistently deliver testing results.

Good-to-Have

• Experience testing AI/computer vision systems.
• Familiarity with CCTV/video stream workflows.
• Knowledge of Python, REST APIs, Docker, Linux, or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with QA tools and bug tracking platforms.
• Understanding of precision/recall, false positives, false negatives.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with video analytics pipelines (DeepStream is a plus).
• Ability to write basic scripts for testing automation.
• Knowledge of regression testing, performance testing, and UAT processes.
• Strong communication skills (able to explain issues clearly to engineers).
