Our client is a Singapore-headquartered (UBI) technology company with an R&D centre in Asia, specialising in Fintech and IoT solutions for smart city and smart nation initiatives. They design and deliver integrated hardware and software solutions for payments, loyalty management, tracking, self-service operations, and telemetry, serving industries such as financial services, retail, transport, education, and social services across Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

Our client is seeking an experienced and self-driven Service Technician/Engineer to join their Operations team to ensure optimal performance and maintenance of their products.

Job Description

POSITION: Service Technician
MONTHLY SALARY: $2,300 - $3,300
WORKING DAY / HOURS: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (1 hour Lunch break)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience with POS device configuration is required.
  • Class 3 Driving License is required.
  • Nitec/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, IT, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a Service Technician or similar role, preferably with exposure to IoT, fintech, or consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge and experience in both hardware and software troubleshooting (IT and networking).
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for on-site maintenance and deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to engage clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service schedules.
  • Well-organized in documenting technical activities and maintaining service records.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

On-Site Support for Deployed Terminals

  • Execute scheduled service tasks and update progress records in internal systems.
  • Coordinate service appointments with clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform on-site tasks including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ensure service timelines and quality standards are met.

On-Site Maintenance Activities

  • Perform battery replacements and station servicing as required.
  • Conduct terminal and network connectivity testing.
  • Carry out site signal testing and document results.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and records.

Terminal Deployment & Retrieval

  • Plan and schedule deployment or retrieval of terminals when required.
  • Verify inventory, configurations, and readiness of devices before deployment.
  • Document changes, updates, and technical activities in relevant records.
  • Coordinate with higher-level technical teams for troubleshooting unresolved issues.
