GCB Cocoa – Sustainability Intern

GCB Cocoa is Asia’s largest and the world’s fourth-largest cocoa processor that is publicly listed on Bursa Malaysia’s stock exchange. We are a manufacturing company that processes cocoa beans into intermediate products and sells them to customers globally. The Singapore subsidiary is a trading company that does the marketing and procurement for its factory based in Malaysia and Indonesia. 

The Sustainability team is looking for an intern to support with Sustainability Reporting, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Measurement, other ongoing Sustainability projects and ad hoc tasks. 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist with the preparation of the annual Sustainability Report and GHG Emissions Measurement, which includes the collection and consolidation of datasets 
• Research on global best practices, policies and regulations relevant to the business (i.e. for the cocoa industry and where GCB Cocoa has a business presence in) 
• Assist with producing Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) updates and communication materials (e.g. presentation slides, reports, social media posts) 
• Ad-hoc support with Sustainability and CSR projects and helping to take meeting minutes

Commitment Period & Remuneration: 

• Ability to commit from November to End April is preferred (duration is negotiable, minimum 5 months) 
• Full-time commitment is preferred, especially from mid-January to mid-March
• Flexible on full-time/ part-time working arrangements to accommodate to candidate’s academic schedule (for part-time minimum 16 hours per week) 
• Monthly remuneration is SGD1,500 for full-time (will be prorated accordingly for part-time)
• Office Location: Jurong East (no hybrid arrangement)

Requirements: 

• Must be based in Singapore
• Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, and Humanities final-year undergraduates preferred but not required 
• Demonstrates a keen interest in Sustainability (plus point if you have knowledge about Sustainability reporting frameworks and GHG Accounting) 
• Excellent research and analysis skills with the ability to synthesise information from various sources, including public datasets, industry standards/best practices and estimation
•  Proficient in Microsoft software suite (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) 
• Basic visual design skills (i.e. using Canva, plus points if know how to use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) 
• Strong communication skills and ability to present findings in a thoughtful and concise manner 
• Entrepreneurial working style, able to work independently and problem-solve
