Canalys is looking for a Research Assistant to help support its fast-growing and highly respected worldwide market intelligence services, focusing on mobility.

Desired skills and experience

The candidate may be university student in any discipline, preferably within IT and telecoms, market research or an area that uses a similar skill set. Candidates should:

  • Show a strong aptitude for technology. Be apprised of current market trends and have a demonstrable interest and understanding of future direction and influences.

  • Show initiative and contribute and promote their own ideas and opinions, as well as being very capable of working within a global virtual team environment.

  • Possess excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of Access would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of our company values of accountability, quality, passion, care, being flexible and thinking globally.

Job Description

The Research Assistant will work in an experienced global team analyzing technology and routes-to-market trends across various enterprise and consumer IT sectors, including smart phones, tablet, PCs, wearables and other connected technologies, such as cars.

The ideal candidate must be able to show independence and initiative. You will be expected to contribute and promote your own ideas and opinions, as well as being capable of working within a global virtual team environment. 

The individual will be confident and comfortable communicating over the phone, face-to-face and in writing. Experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, is useful. Fluency in a language other than English would be an advantage.

The main duties will include face-to-face and desk research on these areas. The role will be based in our Singapore office, and you must be based in Singapore to apply.
