Becca D’Bus is Eugene Tan, and together, they are a drag queen, producer, and organizer. Regularly, they produce and perform in RIOT! Hosted by Becca D’Bus and a host of other events. They regularly work on events with IndigNation in the space of queer activism and organizing. On an ad-hoc/freelance basis, they perform, produce, and organize with various other partners throughout the year.
The Internship
The scope of the internship will be negotiated and created with the successful candidate, but areas will definitely include:
Event production and organization
Digital content management
Promotion, marketing, and social media
There are opportunities for the internship to include:
Content creation
Shoot production
Event management
Please note: Performing is not within the scope of this internship.
Duration
6 months minimum.
Extension is possible.
Time Structure
Part-time, 20 hours/week, including:
4 hours weekly: Onsite at events.
2 hours every Sunday: Remotely.
Remaining 14 hours: Scheduled but flexible; mostly remote, with possible meetings or onsite activity.
Remuneration
$400–$600 / month * To be determined after an interview and once the actual scope of the internship is decided.
The Ideal Candidate
This position is ideal for a candidate who is interested in the worlds of independent event production, queer community and activism, entertainment, and nightlife. They should be excited about drag, queer culture, and popular culture, and have more than a superficial awareness of these both locally and globally.
Communication: Candidates should be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally in written and spoken English. A command of the language that includes copywriting and humor is ideal.
Personal Attributes: Resourcefulness, punctuality, and discipline should come naturally to the candidate.

Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally in written and spoken English.
The internship involves working on the intern’s own computer and smartphone, at minimum.
Due to the age limits of venues where the work occurs and the ratings of some events, candidates must be over 18 (ideally over 21) at the time of application.
Access
Physical Demands: The position involves being on your feet for a couple of hours at a time and moving briskly, including up and down stairs.
Environment: The position involves being around and interacting with large crowds of boisterous people who may be inebriated.
Social Context: The position involves writing and speaking in English and requires an ability to understand social cues, irony, sarcasm, and inferred meaning.
