Performance Objectives:
- Demonstrate expert-level product knowledge for IBM Spectrum Protect solutions and competitive solutions.
- Perform billable services engagements, including the installation and implementation of IBM Spectrum Protect.
- Conduct technical training and educate the Operations Team on IBM Spectrum Protect solutions and storage management.
- Support 24/7 shifts.
Requirements:
- You must have at least five years of proven technical experience in TSM.
- You must be willing to travel within your defined geography.
Required Skills - Technical and Non-Technical:
- In-depth Knowledge on:
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Server on Windows & UNIX
- TSM Server and Client Options
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL, etc.)
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Mail (Domino and Exchange)
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for VMware
- NDMP Backup using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
- DRM Implementation and Management using Tivoli Storage Manager
- Veritas Netbackup BAU operations for VM backup and recovery
- Knowledge of Tape Libraries and LTO Tape Drives.
- Ability to audit application backup policies and environments.
- Possess desired Operating System Skills.
- Provide remote and onsite support.
- Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target.
- Strong problem determination and analysis skills.
- TSM Product skills on OS: Windows, AIX, Solaris, Linux (basic Unix), DB2, and networking.
Other Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written) are essential.
- Experience in managing Junior/Senior support personnel.
- Ability to quickly analyze and diagnose problems.
- Hardworking and eager to learn.
- Ability to participate and work with local and global teams.
- Ready to take on additional challenges.
