Job Description

Finance & Accounting Executive

Objective: To provide hands-on experience in finance and accounting operations, exposing interns to real-world business processes in stock, sales, procurement, and reporting, while developing analytical and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting entries

  • Record supplier invoices, customer payments, and petty cash transactions

  • Support reconciliation of bank accounts, payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.), and cash registers

  • Help prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements

2. Accounts Receivable & Payable

  • Assist in issuing invoices and following up on payments

  • Maintain accounts receivable aging reports

  • Process supplier bills and ensure timely payments

  • Support vendor and customer account reconciliations

3. Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing cost analysis for products and services

  • Compile sales and expense reports for management review

  • Track budget vs actual performance

  • Support productivity and profitability analysis

4. Stock & Inventory Control

  • Work with operations to reconcile stock movements with accounting records

  • Assist in monthly and quarterly stocktakes

  • Record wastage, adjustments, and stock valuation reports

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Help maintain proper filing of accounting documents (physical and digital)

  • Assist in preparation for audits, GST submissions, and other statutory filings

  • Ensure compliance with company finance policies and procedures

6. Administrative Support

  • Support finance team with ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks

  • Assist in implementing digital finance tools or process improvements


 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, the intern will:

  • Understand full-cycle accounting processes from source documents to financial reports

  • Gain experience in financial software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP)

  • Learn how finance supports decision-making in a business

  • Develop problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills

  • Gain exposure to stock, order, and productivity tracking in a commercial environment


 

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
