At Vertex Holdings, we're building AI-powered applications that transform how venture capital works.

Vertex Holdings is a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek, anchoring a global network of venture capital funds managing approximately US$7 billion in assets and having invested in more than 300 startups globally.

Our technology team develops a proprietary investment platform that brings together software engineering, data science and AI to support investment professionals across the venture capital lifecycle.

We're looking for curious, hands-on interns who enjoy building things with AI, from experimenting with new models to shipping working applications.

What you'll get to work on

• Build AI-powered applications: Design and develop solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, machine learning and other emerging technologies to solve real business challenges.
• Develop end-to-end solutions: Work across the full development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and prototyping ideas to building, testing and deploying applications.
• Experiment with emerging AI technologies: Explore and evaluate new models, frameworks and techniques, considering their accuracy, reliability, performance and cost.
• Build software that brings AI to life: Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines and user-facing applications that integrate AI capabilities into practical workflows.
• Deploy and improve applications: Gain exposure to cloud platforms, containerisation, CI/CD and engineering practices for building reliable, maintainable systems.
• Collaborate and learn: Work alongside engineers and investment professionals, turning ideas and feedback into solutions that deliver meaningful value.

Who we're looking for

We welcome undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines.

What matters most:

• Proficiency in Python or another programming language, with a good foundation in software development.
• A genuine interest in AI, machine learning and building practical applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies independently.
• A collaborative mindset, curiosity and willingness to experiment, iterate and learn from feedback.

Bonus points if you have experience in one or more of these areas:

• AI and Machine Learning: LLMs, RAG, AI agents, model evaluation or frameworks such as LangChain.
• Software Engineering: REST APIs, FastAPI, Django, Node.js, React or full-stack web development.
• Data and Infrastructure: SQL, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Docker or CI/CD.
• Personal Projects: AI applications, hackathons, GitHub contributions or interesting things you've built independently.

You don't need to know everything listed above. We're looking for students who are strong in at least one area, curious about the others and excited to learn by building.

We value builders who are comfortable moving between AI experimentation and software engineering, and who care as much about making something work reliably as they do about exploring the latest technology.
