Role Description
We are looking for a Tech Intern to join our Technical Operations team in our immersive exhibitions. Our current projects include Harry Potter: Visions of Magic, Jurassic World: The Experience, and more large-scale experiences in the pipeline. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills he/she acquired in school related to his/her particular areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. The candidate will gain professional experience in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AVL (Audio, Video, Lighting), animatronics, and interactive show elements in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, alongside experienced technicians.
Role Responsibilities
• Assist in the setup, maintenance, and daily operations of technical systems for immersive exhibitions.
• Support troubleshooting and repairs for lighting, sound, animatronics, and interactive exhibits.
• Conduct routine safety and functionality checks to ensure smooth operations.
• Work with the team to diagnose and resolve technical malfunctions in show elements.
• Assist in scene transitions and special effects operations during live events and exhibition activations.
• Follow technical documentation and help with fabrication, installation, or system updates as needed.
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment.
• Other tasks assigned by the technical team to support the smooth operation of exhibitions.
Required Education and Experience
• Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• Basic knowledge or experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical wiring.
• Interest in automation, animatronics, AV technology, or interactive entertainment.
• Ability to follow technical manuals and troubleshoot basic system issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Team player with a proactive learning attitude.
• Able to commit to a 5-day work week, including weekends if required, based on operational needs
