As a journalist intern with The Straits Times Life desk, you will gain first-hand experience in lifestyle and entertainment reporting. You will work closely with editors and reporters to pitch, research and produce stories across both print and digital platforms.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Assist in researching, pitching, and writing lifestyle, arts, culture, food, travel and entertainment stories.
* Support the trending page, including monitoring and copytasting wires.
* Write short stories on Asian entertainment (e.g. K-pop, C-drama, regional celebrities).
* Conduct interviews with industry professionals, artists, and personalities.
* Cover events, press conferences, and festivals.
* Assist in multimedia content creation (photos, videos, social media posts).
* Perform fact-checking and background research for ongoing stories.
* Work with editors to refine story angles and meet publishing deadlines.
**Requirements**
* Strong writing and communication skills in English.
* Good news sense and an eye for lifestyle/entertainment trends.
* Preferably bilingual, with the ability to read Chinese(important for sourcing Asian entertainment stories).
* Resourceful, curious and able to work independently in a fast-paced newsroom.
* Multimedia skills (photography, video editing, social media) are a plus.

* Gain hands-on experience working in a newsroom.
