Job Description

Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking for an Intern in its AV/ICT department starting in August 2025. The AV/ICT Intern provides basic support to both the ICT and AV teams by assisting in day-to-day operations, setting up equipment, and learning through hands-on experience. This internship provides exposure to both IT and AV environments, including classrooms, offices, and performance spaces. 

Part of this role is customer-focused that offers practical experience in IT and AV environments, supporting end-users, maintaining college technology systems and requires technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. 

The internship will be for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Duties & Responsibilities

CUSTOMER SERVICE 

  • Liaise with Students, Parents and Staff to provide consistent, efficient technical services in a courteous and friendly manner 
  • Provide uncomplicated information on technical issues 
  • Work in partnership with Academic and Business Staff to support the technology requirements of the College 
  • Encourage customer feedback to plan future improvements of the services provided 

TECHNICAL SERVICE 

  • Setting up AV systems for theatre productions, assemblies, and presentations 
  • Maintaining sound and lighting equipment, ensuring optimal functionality before and during events 
  • Coordinating with event organizers to meet technical requirements. 
  • To assist in events in other venues that do not have any AV equipment installed and to set up the portable AV equipment 
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment in classrooms. 
  • Ensuring timely response to any AV issues affecting teaching and learning. 
  • Proactively conducting routine checks on classroom technology to minimise downtime 
  • Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues on ICT equipment. This may be by remote support (telephone or return-to-base support) or on-site support (in-class or at-workstation support) 
  • Ensure that ICT loan systems are available for use by pupils and staff in accordance with the arrangements set by the ICT Manager 
  • Support the process of configuring and testing and provide service support of IT device solutions including laptops and tablets 
  • To assist with reprographics and audio-visual equipment when required. To work together in a team to liaise and deliver technical services for all stakeholders
  • To document problems and steps to resolve them using the college job tracking/helpdesk system and other central resources 
  • To participate in the on-going program of preventative maintenance for AV/ICT equipment 

ADMINISTRATION 

  • Document hardware issues and utilise the AV/ICT Services Department online service desk to maintain records of repairs 
  • Maintenance of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements within the department and classrooms 
  • Organise the repair of equipment from external vendors 
  • Creation of “How to Documents” for specific technologies 

 COMMUNICATION 

  • Provide regular feedback to clients on the status of on-going technical support issues 
  • Provide regular feedback to other AV/ICT Engineers on on-going technical support issues through email messaging and departmental documentation
  • Participate in AV/ICT Services Departmental Staff meetings, Education Technology Staff meetings and other meetings as required 
  • Provide detailed online documentation for completed technology tasks 

 SERVICE DELIVERY 

  • To provide a high level of service to all customers (internal or external and including students, staff, parents and general community members). This encompasses: - 
  • Ensuring a friendly, helpful and professional demeanour at all times 
  • Creating positive and open communications to deliver the best possible outcome 
  • Creating a reputation for reliability by fulfilling promises made 
  • Providing a timely response in all service delivery interactions 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Diploma or Degree in relevant subject 
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills 
  • Confident communication and interpersonal abilities 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
