As the process improvement intern, you will do the brainwork to help figure and improve the efficiency of our backend. The primary objectives are to (1) improve productivity, (2) reduce costs and (3) minimize errors. We hope the intern can help us in the following areas:
- Warehousing: Optimise configuration to maximise goods that can be stored. Improve speed of unpacking. Enhance efficiency of Quality Check (which ensures correct variants, quantities and working products are received)
- Packing: Improve speed of pick and pack, reduce errors in packing. Find the most optimal way to pack to decrease cost (e.g. too much packing material will result in higher packaging cost and higher shipping cost)
- Manpower resourcing / workflow planning: Improve manpower utilization rate. E.g. ensure there are sufficient workers when orders increase
- Product sourcing: Discover methods to locate the correct goods faster and at a cheaper rate
- Purchasing: Figure methods to ensure goods are not stocked out.
- Invoicing: A manual process currently, are there ways to improve the speed of invoicing and reduce accuracy?
- Customer response: How to ensure timeliness of response to customers and everything has been followed up on?
