Company Profile

Wilhelmsen started up in 1861 and we have done it all within the maritime industry.

However, in recent years we shifted over to service industries for the global merchant fleet. Thus, we have developed an unparalleled around-the-world network.

To put it differently, you cannot sail around the world without interacting with us in some way. We do our best so our customers can work efficiently and create value. We are ready for the future and the continuous responsibility being the shaper of the maritime industry.

Are you interested? Joining our team as an intern means you will work with a small team of talented, fun and genuinely inspiring colleagues. Our close-knit all singing, all dancing, flexible, do it all, multiple hat-wearing, agile transformation team eats business clichés for breakfast, and then the real work begins.

So, if you’re the type of person who enjoys working in close collaboration with colleagues from around the world and the management team, do get in touch and apply for our role as Business Transformation Intern.

What will you do:

WSS Marine Products provides the global merchant fleet with an extensive range of products used in maritime operations. Given altering market conditions, we’re increasingly changing how we work at Wilhelmsen, further improving the customer experience, developing new products, systems, technologies, and new processes.

The Sales Operations Team in Marine Product support and work with a global salesforce spread across 7 different Sales Areas. Serving close to 150 sales resources, we aim to implement best practice across our Sales Teams and provide Central Management with the best commercial decision-making tools for value creation.

We are looking for one intern to support us in developing a model to analyze whether the company’s sales performance outperforms the world’s maritime and shipping market. The model and its analysis would be very valuable not only to evaluate the company’s sales performance to market, but also to suggest actions for different Sales Areas, for example, what vessel segment(s) and where and why require more focus and efforts.

We expect you to have strong reasoning skills to select and configure the proper datasets, to come up with strategies for effective data analysis, before building and implementing analytics solutions to the model. The result and analysis shall be logical and interpretable to general audiences.

We work across the people, process, data and technology dimension and adapt our problems solving methodology to the challenge at hand. Do you get excited about working close to the “sharp end” with sales but with the “smart” and analytical driven department, then you should join us!

Who are you:

To make the most out of your time at Wilhelmsen, you should…

  • be able to commit for a least 3 months til October 2021
  • be data driven and structured in your problem-solving approach
  • feel excitement when solving real-life business problems
  • be able to work independently
