Job Description

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team. This position requires an experienced professional with familiarity and a history of working with high voltage electrical components in an energy storage system and with a manufacturing background. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields especially on Solidworks, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Role & responsibilities

  • Support in developing and validating complex mechanical products that are required across all Business Units.
  • Direct involvement in ESS design (current and future products)
  • Support PCB mechanical layouts utilizing standard tools
  • Support all aspects of mechanical design with minimal supervision
  • Partners with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define the appropriate mechanical/thermal architecture.
  • Expertly assemble prototypes and verifies form/fit/function.
  • Work with and manage external component suppliers/manufacturers and provide input to their product roadmaps
  • Communicates technical aspects of a project effectively to internal and external customers.
  • Define design innovations and potential patentable solutions
  • Support resolution of complex design issues and manages design trade-offs

Job requirements

Your profile

  • Detailed knowledge (with moderate complexity) of Industry or specific sector, regulatory and safety standards.
  • Broad knowledge developing high complexity projects that have required one of more of Mechanical Engineering Design specializations or competencies: Tolerance Analysis, DFM, Serviceability
  • Detailed knowledge and use of key development tools and design standards: 3D CAD, Solidworks, Finite Element Analysis, Tolerances, Manufacturing Principles, Interference Checks
  • Mechanical Engineering study in Polytechnic/University
