Launched in September 1993 by Singapore’s Ambassador-at-Large and VSA Patron, Professor Tommy Koh, Very Special Arts Singapore is a local charity organisation dedicated to providing opportunities for people with disabilities to be involved in the arts. For the past 24 years, VSA Singapore has been running successful art programmes, workshops, competitions and art exhibitions for the special needs community, creating awareness among members of the public of their immense talent and resilience.
Through our programmes, we:
- Promote the educational, social, rehabilitative and therapeutic benefits of visual, performing and literary arts;
- Integrate individuals with disabilities into mainstream society through the arts; and
- Assist them in obtaining financial independence through arts and arts-creation.
Intern for Accounting
The role is special as you will have the opportunity to work in a non-profit organization. You can get a chance to develop yourself professionally as well as have an excellent opportunity to contribute back to society.
Your role will be to work closely with our Finance Manager in order to:
- Help manage the account receivables function. e.g. track donations, record donations, perform reconciliation of all donations received.
- Support in the day to day management of payments made by customers or by our students
- Prepare salaries of employees, remuneration of teachers as well as payment of beneficiaries after sales of their items.
- Assist in the redaction of application for grants and following reports required
The ideal candidate shall have at least:
- persuing a diploma in accounting;
- interest in the charity sector; and
- keen interest to develop him / her self in doing full set of accounts.
