Job Description

Do You Enjoy Creating Useful & Concise Notes For Your Science Examinations?

Are you a passionate and driven undergraduate who is looking to explore a career in the education sector?

The Pique Lab is looking for two Curriculum Design Interns to help serve our fast-growing community of students in the secondary school Science space (Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics).

Commitment Required:

  • The minimum commitment period is 3 months and we're open to both part-time and full-time interns.
  • Full-time interns can expect to put in 40 hours a week, while part-time interns should ideally be able to contribute at least 20 hours a week.

To grow together as a team, we need team members who find joy in nurturing inquisitive secondary school children and yearn to work in a supportive environment where they will help kids achieve their wildest dreams.

We're looking for rockstar interns to help us build our curriculum to take our school to the next level.

More importantly, we need people who believe in the power of "grit" and "doing whatever it takes".

Here's What You'll Accomplish During Your Internship:

  • Assist in the development of the organisation’s secondary school Science notes (Lower Secondary School Science/ O Level/ Integrated Programme)
  • Assist in the development of targeted practices for our students by selecting questions based on given parameters.
  • Propose potential areas of improvement in the curriculum & work together with the teaching team to improve on them.

And many other growth opportunities… (Too many to list down here.)

Who Is Our Ideal Candidate?

  1. Strong Academic Track Record in Science: You should have a strong understanding in Science (especially Chemistry and/or Physics). Candidates who have prior experience in teaching and/or developed curriculum are favoured.
  2. Intense Passion For Education & Learning: You should ideally have an unwavering commitment towards delivering an amazing learning experience for our students. Although this is a back-end role, your work will matter, as it’ll be used to help thousands of students in our community learn faster & better.
  3. Strong Perseverance: You must be committed to mastery and be willing to put in the hard work to learn as much as possible. It’s common to expect putting in extra hours during the training phase to get your fundamentals right. Trust me, it’ll pay off eventually.
  4. Full Commitment To Your Deliverables: Once we have set our milestones together with you, we expect you to stick to them & deliver them faithfully and conscientiously.
  5. Meticulous, Detail-oriented & Independent: These are important traits that are required in this role. Please apply only if you consider yourself to have these traits.

Here're Other Perks That You Can Look Forward To:

1) Flexi Working Arrangements: We prioritise deliverables over face time. Remote and in-office working arrangements can be explored, depending on your preference.

2) Generous Internship Stipend: We pay $1,500 for our full-time interns (40 hours/week, min. 3 months). If you're able to only contribute part-time, we can work out an alternative payment arrangement.

3) Mentorship & Regular Feedback: We want all of our team members to succeed and that includes you. We like to work with team members who can take criticism well & are driven to create better versions of themselves.

4) Conversion Opportunity to A Full-Time, Permanent Position: Your work performance and potential will be evaluated during your internship period. Capable interns who demonstrate strong work ethics may be offered a conversion opportunity to a full-time Curriculum Design Specialist role with us (graduate salary: $3,000 - $4,500/ month).

5) Medical & Dental Benefits: No one in our team should ever worry about the cost behind seeing a general practitioner or a dentist. We will take care of the tab during your downtime & help you get back on your feet.

6) Unlimited Snacks & Drinks: Feeling peckish? We have a wide galore of snacks and drinks in our fully-stocked pantry for you to enjoy.
