The Job

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pro-active advice and support on all matters relevant to contracts, including guiding the network on applicable processes and policies.
  • Review, negotiate and oversee execution of sales and procurement commercial contracts.
  • Assist in implementing total legal offer document set including policies, templates and legal documentation.
  • Assist with contract management including implementation, guidance and periodic reviews throughout the contract life cycle.
  • Assist the Legal Counsel in completion of KYC/KYS documentation and other ad hoc legal matters which are required such as those in relation to the GDPR, Anti-Bribery and Anti-money laundering.
  • Assist in developing competencies, methods and tactics, policies, guidelines and training which stimulate customer loyalty and tighter contracting.
  • Ensure legal and liability standard guidelines are covered under all agreements with the allocated remit and the risk / liability position is consistent across all contracts and agreements in alignment with Central Management Teams position.
  • Liaise with WMS Legal Director, Wilhelmsen Insurance Services and external counsel as required.
  • Work with colleagues to continuously improve contract management workflows, standards and deliverables by anticipating issues, providing advice and sharing knowledge and best practice.

Ideal Candidate

Required experience and skills :

  • Commercial / business experience with proven experience in contract review and negotiation with a solid understanding of risk management in contracting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with excellent written and oral presentation skills, and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear, concise and commercial way.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Proactive and self motivated with the ability to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
