At Saltine Communications, our focus is simple: we secure media features and press interviews for our customers. Your role will be to support the team in acquiring new clients who are looking to get themselves or their brand on the media – be it online publications, newspapers, magazines, television and radio.

We are looking for a highly motivated, independent business development champion who is well-spoken, resourceful and proactive in networking amongst startups, SMEs and startup communities, bringing in quality leads and hitting monthly prospect meeting targets. Ideally you should have experience and connections in B2B sales, preferably but not required to be in the start-up and SMEs space.

Job Description

An effective, self-motivated sales powerhouse. You should be endlessly resourceful in generating and qualifying leads, proactive in achieving sales targets and efficient in meeting deadlines. Experience in moving prospects through the sales funnel is important but not crucial – most essential is a willingness to learn, improve and succeed. Ideally, you are able to work independently with minimal supervision and network wherever you go, sharing with people about Saltine.

We also need you to believe in what you are selling. Nothing sells better than passion. Of course, if you don’t need to love it to sell it, that works too – but we’re sure you will love our product as much as our clients do. We are addicted to the satisfaction of getting a well-deserving business the media coverage they deserve.

Beyond smashing out homeruns, it would be a bonus if you are meticulous and well organised in capturing the sales process and leads information, so that we have the data to further grow the business.

What will you be doing in your role?

  • Structuring Saltine’s overall lead generation strategy
  • Identifying new leads and lead sources through research
  • Attending networking events, industry conferences and partnership meetings
  • Preparing sales decks, pitches and proposals
  • Scheduling pitch meetings with prospects to hit weekly meeting goals
  • Pitching to prospects both online and offline
  • Generating quotations
  • Setting and achieving monthly sales goals in terms of new clients
  • Maintain and update accurate and comprehensive sales data regularly
  • Being a brand ambassador for Saltine!

What requirements do you need to fulfil?

  • Best with 1 - 2 years of experience in sales and business development related roles
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral – adaptable to all levels
  • Able to manage multiple campaigns/ deliverables simultaneously
  • Works well under pressure to set deadlines and targets
  • Strong sales track record
