Roles & Responsibilities
Job Scope:
Work with employee based in China to conduct market research
Find publishing companies in China and Taiwan to assist with a book launch,
Telecommunicate with parties involved.
Take charge of marketing products within Singapore, China, and Taiwan.
Use China-based web search engines/browsers such as Baidu and the company’s WeChat.
Launch Kickstarter Fundraiser Campaign targeting Chinese in business overseas and local
Use platforms such as Dangdang, JD, CNPeReading to search for the right publishers and to market to the right audience
Fund the Kickstarter or find Chinese businessmen to write a review for the published book
Get lots of exposure from people in business overseas.
Our Internship Programme at RPL provides our interns an opportunity with global exposure while being grounded in Singapore. During this internship, the interns will be exposed to working with our employee based in China and applying appropriate market research skills, and finding the right publishing companies based in China and Taiwan to assist with a book launch in a new market. The book that we will launch is an Entrepreneurship Book in Mandarin that we aim to publicise as an EBook. Our Target market is Potential readers in China and Taiwan. The intern will be able to participate in telecommuting with the different parties involved and will also be taking charge of marketing out the products within Singapore and as well as in China and Taiwan. The intern will also be exposed to using new platforms based in China; Web Search Engine/Web Browsers such as Baidu and the company’s WeChat account (WeChat ID: wxid_bszqeaigjg6t22)The interns will also have an opportunity to be part of a Kickstarter Fundraiser Campaign, targeting the Chinese in business both overseas and local to aid us with this new adventure that we have taken up. The interns will be exposed to these platforms (Dangdang, JD, CNPeReading) to research the right publishers and to also market the books to the right target audience.
Requirements of Interns
Able to be Independent in Market Research
Able to critically analyse situations and come up with solutions
Able to communicate with the team and 3rd party companies
Fairly Proficient in English & Mandarin to be able to write, read and speak with counterparts based in China.
