Job Description

Team Information

The Strategy and Policy team is responsible for developing organisational strategy and outcomes in line with its overall vision and strategic direction, as well as lead and manage relationships with key government and government-related stakeholders to influence policies and programmes with national impact. It helps define the organisation’s position on what constitutes “good giving” based on insights, values and the organisation’s vision.

The team leads the organisation’s strategic planning process, including providing practical guidance to performance management and programme planning to ensure alignment with strategic intent and outcomes. It develops and executes robust strategies, plans, and analytics and drives and manages key partnerships with government to meet NVPC’s strategic objectives.

Programme

You will be supporting the S&P team in its works to develop and implement strategic foresight, galvanize cross-sector collaboration and influencing policy. In particular, you will be supporting three projects:

  1. Scenario Planning
    • Support team to plan and execute scenario co-creation process with strategic internal/external stakeholders
    • Sense-make insights arising from the co-creation workshops
  2. Collaboration Learning Labs:
    • Support team to design, plan and execute Collaboration Learning Labs, especially regarding stakeholder management support, and event planning/logistics
  3. Colabs Series:
    • Support team to design, plan and execute Dementia Colabs series, especially regarding pre-, during and post-event logistics

Learning Opportunities

  • Concurrent exposure to 3 different workstreams that look at scenario planning, capability development, multisector collaboration
  • Exposure to Futures Thinking and Scenario Planning exercise
  • Exposure to large-scale multistakeholder engagement, including senior level stakeholders across the people, public and private sector
  • A look inside the workings of a strategy team at a National Centre.

Responsibilities

Support team in various tasks relating to the projects, including but not limited to:

  • Session design and planning
  • Stakeholder tracking and database management
  • Pre- and post-event survey analysis
  • General operational support for virtual/physical events, including notetaking, timekeeping, attendance taking, etc. 
  • Any other tasks relating to the projects

Requirements

  • Tertiary students of any discipline, preferably with background or interest in social issues
  • Some experience with qualitative research, especially focus group discussion
  • High degree of familiarity with virtual meeting platforms like Zoom, Teams, etc.
  • Some familiarity with virtual cocreation platforms like Miro or Mural etc. (preferable) 
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • Self-starter, independent, possesses a high degree of discipline and commitment
  • Good sensibility, interpersonal and communication skills
