Job Description

Project

BoardMatch

Board Match is CNPL’s flagship programme to bring diversity and rejuvenation to Boards of non-profit organisations (NPOs). It matches senior executives with at least five years of management and leadership experiences from both the public and private sectors to the Boards of NPOs.

PulseCheck

Pulse Check is a self-assessment process for non-profit boards to strengthen their leadership capacity. It invites Boards and the Executive leadership team to reflect upon developmental next steps to enhance their overall effectiveness.

COMPass

COMPass is a personalised leadership development programme targeted at Executive Directors/ Chief Executive Officers of NPOs. It enables organisational leaders to better understand and hone their competencies in running a non-profit organisation.

Strategy Track

Facilitated by Bain & Co, the strategy track workshops consist of 2 interactive sessions developed for Board Chairs, Board Members and ED/CEO/GMs to collaboratively develop a clearer strategy and monitoring plan for implementation. Post-workshop, this will be followed by strategic conversations/clinics (co-facilitated by Bain & Co and CNPL) where the participants can share their challenges and insights, to explore how they could apply the learnings within their organisations.

Leadership Alumni

An alumni network comprising of members that co-create solutions and catalyse change for the benefit of others. These members are made up of participants from the ACE Leadership Capstone Programme for Non-Profit Organisations, Social Leadership Singapore Programme, and ToteBoard Overseas Scholarship Programme.

Leaders’ Lab

Leaders’ Lab is a platform that brings together people who experience and face similar concerns, created with the aim of addressing various pertinent issues faced by non-profit leaders. The aim is to foster better relationships amongst those in different sectors of the non-profit landscape, stimulating new ideas and the spirit of collaboration.

Learning Opportunities

  1. Students will gain deeper insights into BoardMatch, Leadership Development, and Organisation Development (incl. governance and leadership best practices) interventions – targeting non-profits/charities in Singapore.
  2. Students will be able to experience hands-on into proprietary diagnostic tool/s (e.g. PulseCheck for Non-profit Boards, COMPass for Leadership development, Knowledge Center for BoardMatch).
  3. Students will be exposed to/be involved in stakeholder meetings, board advisory clinics, project scoping, setting up of online survey, data collection and analysis, preparation of diagnostic report/s and presentation of findings, etc.
  4. Students will have ample opportunities to network with Board Members and Senior Management Officers (e.g. C-suite) from the varied non-profits/charities, corporate and public sector.
  5. Student will have ample exposure to other team projects (e.g. Leadership on Track, Leadership Alumni initiatives, Leaders Lab) as per assigned by the team where needed.
  6. Students will be able to apply classroom learnings into real-life examples, improve their problem-solving/critical thinking skills, project/event management skills.
  7. Students may also have the opportunity to be involved in the Board Leadership Survey 2019 (national landscape study on non-profit Boards).
  8. Overall, students will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the non-profits/charities landscape in Singapore.

Responsibilities

Provide operational and administrative support to the team in:

  • Organising of events/workshops/seminars/talks (pre & post)
  • Setting up of stakeholder meetings
  • Setting up of online surveys for selected programmes & initiatives
  • Project scoping (for OD-type interventions)
  • Research through data collection and analysis
  • Preparation of diagnostic report(s)
  • Presentation of findings and analysis
  • Any other work duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Requirements

  • Diploma and/or Degree in any discipline
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Able to adapt and cope in a fast pace, challenging work hours and environment
  • Strong passion for building professional working relationships
