Job Description

The role will report to the Head of Asia ex-Japan Institutional Sales.

You’ll be part of a high performing, diverse and collaborative team as you build your foundation in the asset management industry. At M&G, our interns take on real responsibilities and work on actual projects, alongside experienced sales professionals. The team will rely on your skills and fresh insights to help deliver for our clients. You’ll also get the opportunity to hear from our leadership team through regular update sessions.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

Client management tasks

  • Support the Asia ex-Japan Institutional Sales team, with members based in Hong Kong and Singapore, to respond to client requests and queries. Key client markets include Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
  • Preparation of business development and client servicing materials
  • Coordinate delivery of investment communications to provide timely updates to clients

Internal stakeholder coordination

  • Support client relations efforts by working closely with various teams in our UK headquarters and within the regional team. Regular liaison with the global teams may include:
  • Investment specialist/investor relations team – work closely with the relevant team to respond to client requests and queries on M&G strategies
  • Marketing team – work with our regional marketing team to execute our marketing plan, including digital marketing, events, etc.
  • RFP team – coordinate on completion of RFPs, RFIs, due diligence questionnaires.
  • Operations team – ensuring client accounts are set up properly, responding to dealing issues, etc. together with our Global Operational Client Support Team (GOCS)
  • Data team – working with the data team to pull together M&G strategy information for provision to clients

Administrative tasks

  • Maintain the CRM database (Salesforce) with client meeting notes and pipeline updates
  • Support business management reporting requests, including client activity tracker, product campaigns, etc

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • An educational background in investment, finance or economics
  • Strong command in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in a secondary language such as Korean or Mandarin will be a plus point to service the East Asia markets
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Interest in a sales, client servicing and marketing career in the asset management industry
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • A team player with a polite and pleasant nature, confident with speaking to people across levels within the organisation
  • Proactive and able to take initiative in following up on the tasks given to him / her
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
