The creation of this internship position is to support the regional and local business development teams in both organic and inorganic growth through 4 main areas:
- Mergers & acquisitions project support
- Strategy development support and implementation; regional, national, segment level
- Market research of new or existing geographies and end markets
- Marketing & innovation – B2B strategic marketing and new product development support
To provide a holistic internship, the intern will be exposed to all 4 areas, but with a focus on 1 – 2 areas.
Key responsibilities:
- Suggest additional sources of market/competition information
- Approach and discuss with both internal and external subject matter experts
- Structure market and competitor information in an analytical way
- Work with the countries to get a deep understanding of the local market
- Identify potential targets for mergers and acquisitions
- Assist in preparing presentations and business case for investments committees
- Update the database of customers and competitors of carbonates in APAC
- Engaging in specific B2B marketing projects
- Providing new product development support through research and idea management
Profile:
- Current university student
- Only Singapore-based students/applicants will be considered
- Very good analytical skills and high level of rigour
- Able to work under pressure in a M&A environment
- Naturally inquisitive mind with an ability to think 'outside the box'
- High level of curiosity with ability to step back for strategic thinking
- A certain level of autonomy and not shy to ask questions
- Proficient in XLS and PPT
- Knowledge of a 2nd South-East Asian language will be an advantage
- Able to commit to a 5 - 6 month internship would be a huge advantage (will involve taking a leave of absence for a semester)
