Intern, Scientific & Corporate Communications
About the Role:
Hummingbird Bioscience is seeking a Scientific & Corporate Communications Intern who will assist the Scientific Communications Manager. This is a role that will support the Company’s internal and external communications for our key target audiences: investors, partners and talent, and will therefore work cross-functionally with other departments in the Company. The ideal candidate will have an interest in science communication, corporate communications and have an excellent command of the English language. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn the ropes of an in-house communications role in a fast-growing, clinical-stage biotech company.
Responsibilities:
- Support with :
- - Drafting, proofreading, editing and formatting of internal and external communication materials, including but not limited to: press releases, announcements, social media posts, website content, PowerPoint presentations, scientific posters, abstracts and publications
- - Social media management and posting
- - Website content management
- - Vendor liaison
- General administrative duties and desktop research as required
Requirements:
- Penultimate or final year student in life sciences or communications undergraduate course
- Excellent command of the English language
- An interest in science communication and corporate communications
- Highly meticulous, organized and keen to learn, ability to work independently with efficient time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Basic skills with design software (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) is a plus
- Prior work experience in communications is a plus
