About the role
Localization Project Executive
Singapore based (Hybrid), Full Time, Permanent
Reports to VP Marketing & E-commerce -APAC

Go City is seeking a Localization Project Executive to assist our growing APAC Department. This role will be helping to coordinate ongoing translation, transcreation and localization projects and ensuring the timely completion of high-quality output. You will be helping to manage all localizations and freelancers associated with this for marketing content of our global webpages, campaigns, assets etc. You will be a natural at working closely with teams in other regions to support their local marketing needs and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What will you be responsible for /helping us to do?

  • Coordinate the entire localisation process for the website, app and other brand channels - manage the workflow of all translation tasks within the translation team, from project-based work to day-to-day amends and edits. 
  • Project manage translation work from various stakeholder in the company
  • Line-manage our translation specialists: you will help with onboarding and training, help them prioritise their tasks, trouble-shoot any issues they may have and ensure the team is working collaboratively and effectively. 
  • Liaise with other teams in the broader business to understand translation needs, so you can effectively prioritsie workload.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of localized content using out internal best practices.
  • Manage the translation budget, ensuring all costs are clearly tracked and signed off.
  • Assess and evolve the processes we use for managing translation, ensuring we have the right systems and tools in place to maintain an efficient workflow. 
  • Track key tactical metrics to evaluate and report localisation performance. 
  • Maintain updated language style guides to ensure quality standards and help to build and maintain a robust glossary of brand terms and commonly used phrases.
  • Ensure attractions are merchandised effectively across key website landing pages in all languages.
  • Ensure our brand tone of voice is maintained when copy is translated from English.
  • Contribute to our editorial style guide so that it serves as a useful aid in all key APAC languages. 
  • Look at internal and external data and trends to find new localisation opportunities for Go City
  • Utilise customer insights and feedback to generate ideas to improve localisation systems, guidelines, and processes.

What skills do you have that are essential in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+years of professional experience preferably in localization
  • Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organised – managing workflow is a large part of this role
  • You have a knack for managing budgets
  • Prior experience using a CMS system such as Magnolia or Drupal
  • You will be a stickler for accuracy, have extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin or Korean or Japanese language skills
  • You will enjoy line-managing a small translation team of full timers and freelancers
  • While translation work will be your number one priority, we have lots of other creative projects that flow through our team, so an interest and background in copywriting would be desirable.
