Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role
To assist the Regional and Associate Technical Managers in the servicing of existing sales and generation of new business for Fonterra, creating significant commercial values.
The major challenge for the Technical Intern is to be a self–starter, applying their sound judgment and influencing skills to prioritise conflicting demands within a commercial environment.
Role Accountabilities
Generation of New Business
• Assist Regional and Associate Technical Managers in accelerating new business opportunities the S&EA Team is pursuing.
• Assist S&EA Sales Team in scooping and prioritising opportunities based on the S&EA Strategic Plan and input from key stakeholders.
• Assist Regional and Associate Technical Managers in developing detailed project plans for sales opportunities management
• Deliver assigned milestones and tasks in full and on time e.g. new products / applications development, formulation troubleshooting, management of product samples, and etc.
• Assist the Regional and Associate Technical Managers in supporting existing sales.
• Assist S&EA Sales Team in supporting customer technical queries and providing a professional response to product complaints
• Reporting with attention to details
• Provide weekly updates on progress and issues to the Regional and Associate Technical Managers
Development opportunities
• Gain a deep understanding of dairy ingredients B2B business, and build a knowledge of value propositions for customers and consumers
• Work on real-life projects to create values to Fonterra business
• Scope and complete customer’s oriented technical servicing tasks which will help in developing technical skills and competencies
• Exposure to working with internal and external stakeholders
• Learn and exercise best practises of project management
Key Skills & Attitude:
• Food Technology / Engineering / Science major is preferred.
• Passionate about food, prior F&B experience is a bonus
• Positive and enthusiastic team player who can collaborate across cultures
• Good project management skills with the ability to get things done
• Self-motivated and works well in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English
Note:
1) Start date will be on 13 June 2022
2) Only students who are able to commit for the entire period of internship from 13 June to 31 December 2022 will be considered.
3) Selected student will be required to apply for a “Leave of Absence” to complete this internship if it is a non-credit bearing internship.
