Job Description

Responsibilities:

As Platform support engineer, the focus of the job scope is to ensure stable production environment and improve the operations process. 

  • Analyze issues encountered by users and provide viable workaround, if any. 
  • Scan through application log files to debug the issue encountered.
  • Escalate issues with no viable workarounds following SOP.
  • Document, replicate a production issue with development team for a permanent fix.
  • Work with other teams, internally to Envision, or with other vendors, even with client parties, to resolve issues according to SLA
  • With guidance from Ops lead and development team, deploy application fixes into production.
  • Follow up with internal parties, other vendors, even client parties, to find root cause of certain issue, and document in given template 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 
  • Understand Containerized software deployment pattern (e.g. Kubernetes) 
  • Basic Java, Javascript, Python developer skill
  • Understanding of shell script is required. Hands-on exposure in shell scripting is required as part of the job scope
  • Understanding of basic concept of RDBMS and TSDB is required.
  • Able to analyse output from monitoring tools. e.g. Prometheus
  • Problem solving mindset, able to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Operations mindset, able to provide viable workaround and follow up with L3 for issue replication and permanent fixes
  • Able to follow standard operating procedure (SOP) and trouble shooting guide, to debug production issues and deploy issue fixes into production.
