Distribution Grids
- Contribute to research projects addressing the future of Smart Grids and Microgrids in both off-grids and grid-connected context, including a project for urban microgrids in Singapore, targeting the cost-optimal control of flexible Decentralized Energy Resources (DER)
- Provide technical support to commercial microgrid projects in an international context, lead the modelling of the electricity demand, PV and W2E generation potential for the study area (including data preparation and analysis)
- Prototype algorithms for the cost-optimal operation of DER considering grid and market requirements
- Contribute to on-site tests at MASERA, the EDF and NTU microgrid testbed located on Semakau Island in the South of Singapore
Transmission Grids
- Model national grids and interconnection links to foster renewable energy integration
- Perform Static (e.g. Power flow) and Dynamic (e.g. Voltage) studies using commercial tools
- Develop potential interfaces between commercial and internal tools
The Smartgrid Research Engineer is expected to:
- Contribute to new project developments, partnerships and market studies on current and future power systems
- Support technically the business development activity of EDF International Division in Asia
