Job Description

EDF Lab Singapore is looking for a talent to work with our cross-disciplinary research team to apply AI to energy management topics. This role will provide you a unique opportunity to work on projects involving energy markets (consisting of load forecasting, power asset optimization, energy market research, risk management) and machine learning (regression, neural network, gradient descent etc.).

You will be focusing on applying the state-of-the-art deep reinforcement learning methods into the application of energy management to achieve the optimal combinations of different commodities and with the least cost.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop models used for energy markets hedging, for load forecasting and for assets optimization :
    • Review state of the art machine learning models in the litterature
    • Enhance existing AI models and expand their application to multiple commodities
    • Compare the performance of different reinforcement learning models
    • Demonstrate clear presentation of modelling and optimization assumptions and results
  • Support the business development activities for energy management
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or other related discipline
  • Strong interest or experience in machine learning and programming (e.g. Python, R)
  • Passionate about renewable energy industry, energy transition, energy finance and power market
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Eligible to work in Singapore
  • Able to commit at least 6 months (full-time) or 10 months (part-time), and start before July 2022
