World Refining Association is looking for a professional and personable Speaker & Networking Intern to be part of our dynamic Oil & Gas events team for 3 months.

In this unique role, your main responsibility would be to be the “front-face” for all conference delegates, online delegates, VIPs, and speakers. You will be in charge of bringing on board senior level decision makers to attend our events and act as a key point of contact for all event attendees – delegates, VIPs and speakers. This role will also require an understanding of content, basic industry knowledge of operators and vendors and direct selling skills to acquire paying delegates.

- To be the main point of contact and act in a dual role – VIP and Paying Delegate Manager to source C-suite and other key decision makers from the refining and petrochemical industries to attend our events
- Set up and manage the networking platform and handle enquiries before and onsite at the event
- To be the main point of contact onsite for attendees
- To co-ordinate and manage meetings for sponsors and exhibitors
- To secure high-level attendees for workshops, private luncheons, roundtables and online webinars

VIP Guesting & Speakers
Event brief with Portfolio Director to jointly identify profiles of VIP/Speakers and targets required
Data supplied to commence guesting process
Review the invitations, the data and strategies to drive attendance and make recommendations to enhance the attendees
Regular communication with confirmed VIP guests to ensure their attendance onsite at the event. These VIPs will also be required to do meetings with sponsors who have 1-to-1 meetings
Use of social media platforms to engage and enhance the attendee experience
Weekly updates with team on target met and status of attendance
Networking planning and internal project management
Communicate with Portfolio Director and Sales on which sponsor focus per event.
Arrange a project meeting with the entire team to confirm strategy, number of meetings for each sponsor, networking areas / infrastructure available on site etc
Introduction to sponsor to understand sponsor’s meeting requirements to facilitate delivering the right people they want to meet
Attend weekly project meetings
Sole point of contact with identified sponsors on all VIP/client matters including 1-to-1 meetings
