Hands-on experience in operating a variety of Industry 4.0 equipment in Additive manufacturing and materials characterization.

Acquiring leadership skills in setting your operating goals, resources to achieve them and meeting with the timelines of project management.

Traineeship Description:

The trainee will start with learning how to operate binder jetting and extrusion type machines of metal Additive manufacturing, selection of suitable metal and polymers, feedstock morphology and granulometry, thermal post processing of built parts, use of characterization equipment, interacting with inhouse and external scientists and methodology of meeting with all project KPIs. Learn about preventive maintenance and good housekeeping.

Specific Responsibilities

The trainee will be involved in:

Conducting experiments to develop electromagnetic components on Binder Jetting and Extruder Machines of metal additive manufacturing with Magnetic feedstock.

Work on developing suitable polymer binders as an additive to the metal powders,

Carry out post process thermal & mechanical treatment.

Record and analyze experimental data, prepare reports, and results.

Routine shared and assigned housekeeping and other laboratory tasks

Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn

Learn various technologies (Laser, Binder Jetting & Extrusion) in additive manufacturing for both Metal and polymers

Learn Magnetic characterization techniques with Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) & B-H Analyzer.

Learn operations of various instruments such as Microscope, Furnace, Polishing-Grinding and Hardness tester

Develop an understanding of metrics that drive the distinct aspects of R&D and gain experience in time and cost bound Project management.

  • Trouble Shooting & Preventive Maintenance of Machines
  • Develop ability in critical thinking and problem solving

Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Physics or Material Science Engineering or Electrical Engineering graduating class of 2019-2020.

Traineeship Duration: 9 months (OCT-2020 to June-2021)

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday: 8 am to 6 Pm

Training Allowance:

 S$ 2500 per Month

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in the calendar year 2019 or 2020 from reputed Universities or Polytechnics.
  • completed National Service in 2019 or 2020.
